Relevance and Importance of Engineering Education during this time of Skill India.. Digital India.. Start-Up India Harboring a dream to transform the $2 trillion economy into $20 trillion super-power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched flagship schemes - Skill India, Digital India and Start-Up India. Skill India is a campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th July 2015 with an aim to train over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022.
It includes various initiatives of the government like "National Skill Development Mission", "National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015", "Pradhan Mantri Kausha Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)" and the "Skill Loan scheme". Startup India campaign is based on an action plan aimed at promoting bank financing for start-up ventures to boost entrepreneurship and encourage start ups with jobs creation.
Digital India is a campaign launched by the Government of India to ensure that Government services are made available to citizens electronically by improving online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity or by making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology. Engineering Education is one of the most effective way of implementing these schemes and ensuring participation of maximum Young Indian Population in making this Mission Possible!!!
The aim of Engineering Education is to create a pool of Engineering Talent contributing to the Prosperity and Security of the Nation! So far in India, the emphasis has been more on general education, with technical and vocational education at the back seat. And this has resulted in large number of educated people remaining unemployed. But now for the economic development and to ensure a place for India in the community of prosperous Nations, technical education has been given its due importance. Besides this, in this age of unemployment, only technical education can assure one of a job and a comfortable living. Those who are still in the conventional institutions, passing examination that have little relevance in the modern systems, find no opportunities of employment. It can be foreseen that in coming days, Technical and Vocational education will play a major role in bringing our Honorable Prime Minister's dream come true!!
Even though India has one of the largest technical manpower in the world, compared to Indian population it is not sufficient. And hence still there is huge demand of skilled technical manpower. We, at RGCER open heartedly invite and welcome the aspiring Engineers to Join us, We shall help you in becoming a quality Engineer and Be Partner in the Transformation of the Nation!
