Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive, Nagpur 2018.

            The Entrepreneurship development cell of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Research (RGCER), in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur, organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD) Nagpur 2018 at Shri Datta Meghe Auditorium, Wanadongri on Saturday, 20th October 2018. The event was announced by Dr. S G Mahakalkar Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering, RGCER while speaking at the pre-event press conference. Prof Shilpa Katre, ED Cell In-charge, RGCER, Mayur Shinde, co-organiser, E-cell, IIT Kharagpur and Gauri Ikhe, co-ordinator, E-cell, IIT Kharagpur along with along with ED cell co-ordinators of RGCER were also present. Roshni Dhal, co-founder of HighOn-M, Ridhesh Sejpal, Co-founder of Goodfellas studio, Singh, MD, and CEO of Syslogic Technology, Ranjit, Prof Ismail Akbani, Head of entrepreneurship promotion and innovation, Symbiosis Institute of technology.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas- NSS Cell

The NSS cell of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Research (RGCER) has organized/Celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31.10.18 at RGCER, Nagpur 2018.
The event was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Manali Kshirsagar, Principal, RGCER, and Dr. P. D. Shobhane NSS in charge, Sapate Madam Sport , Where Mr. Shantanu Thengali Alumni of RGCER and recognized comedian (Chala Hawa Yeu Dya) was the guest.

Shri Datta Meghe Centre for Innovation and Incubation (SDMCII)-RGCER Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research Hingna Road, Nagpur has inaugurated "Shri Datta Meghe Centre for Innovation and Incubation (SDMCII)-RGCER" by the august hands of Hon'ble Shri Dattaji R. Meghe, Chairman NYSS along with other SDMCII Members on 26th September 2018. SDMCII – RGCER recognized as a Business Incubator/Host Institute for implementation of the scheme "Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of SMEs through Incubator" under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), New Delhi. The scheme aims at nurturing innovative business ideas new and/or ingenious technology, processes, products, procedures, etc. which could be commercialized in a year. Level of Seed Funding is about Rs. 6.25 Lakh per business idea. The Centre will also enhance student to become entrepreneurs and innovators which will generate employability.

Visiting Professor Scheme (VPS) CSE Department Computer Science & Engineering Department of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research had organized Lectures under Visiting Professor Scheme (VPS) from 24th to 26th September, 2018. Under VPS activity every year, Professors from different #IITs are invited and their lecture for students and interaction with faculty is organized. This Year Dr. V. Vijaya Saradhi, (Associate Professor, CSE Department, IIT Guwahati) was invited. He delivered a session on “Data Mining” (Part of Final Year Subject Data Warehousing & Mining)” from 24th to 26th September 2018. He also interacted with faculties and shared his valuable ideas and experiences. Prof. Vijaya Saradhi gave his guidance to final students regarding their projects. Dr. Geeta Tripathi, Prof. Rajesh Nasare took efforts with the support of Prof. Hemant Turkar, HOD CSE, to make this event successful.

Visiting Professor Scheme (VPS) IT Department Dr. Rajiv Misra, IIT Patna was invited as a Visiting Professor at Information Technology Department Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur under the Visiting Professor Scheme of our Meghe Group of Institution. He enlightened our faculty and students in the domain of Data Structure and Algorithm and Data Mining. He had interactions with students having project in his domain and provided valuable suggestions for improvisation and enhancement of the projects. Faculties of the departments also interacted with him regarding academics and personal growth. Laboratory visits were also scheduled and he gave many helpful inputs in lined with the same for betterment of the Labs. The overall event was successful under the guidance of Principal, Dr. M.M. Kshirsagar.

Total 38 ideas were presented by the students of RGCER

On behalf of RTM Nagpur University, NSS UNIT of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur hosted this program. The centralized theme for celebrating this auspicious day was declared to be “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Production & Consumption”. Under this theme the organizing team arranged three interesting competitions namely: Poster making, Essay Writing & Quiz. Dr. Keshav Walke, NSS District Coordinator was the chief guest for the program.

NSS UNIT of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Nagpur selected Mohgaon village for “Shramdan Shibir” which is located 12 Kms from the college. The team planted 20 trees and statue of Ex Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi was clean by girl students in the NSS team.
Fire Fighting Training” with NMC Fire Department, 16th July 2016
Rajiv Gandhi College of engineering and research's NSS group organized a one day training session for its members at NMC fire station. The training fired off from educating the students about different kinds of fire and which extinguishing method to use during which type. The students were given basic knowledge about variations in flame.

Industrial visit to Purti Sugar and Power Plant
Department of Electronics Engineering had organized an industrial visit for hundred students of the Fifth semester who were accompanied by three faculties of the department. The visit was arranged to the Purti Sugar and Power plant, situated in Bela, Nagpur.
